On Friday, February 26, 2016, the jury found that the county failed to provide Ms. Yasmin Reyazuddin, who is blind, with a reasonable accommodation, as required by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, by refusing to implement accessible software so that she could continue to work as an information specialist in the county’s 311 call center.

Mark A. Riccobono, President of the National Federation of the Blind, said: “…This case underscores the critical importance of accessible technology for the success of blind workers in the modern workplace…”
